Wellesley Council on Aging (COA)    781-235-3046

The Wellesley COA, located at 500 Washington Street, provides a bus service for medical transportation to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Metrowest Medical Center in Natick, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, and any medical appointments within the town of Wellesley. The COA also provides non-medical transportation to the Woodland T stop in Newton, group shopping trips, and volunteer drivers who can provide transportation in Wellesley and the surrounding towns. There is no cost for these programs, but donations are accepted. Contact the COA for additional details.

Springwell’s Senior Medical Escort Program    617-926-4100

This Springwell program matches seniors age 60 or older with volunteers to drive and/or accompany them to medical appointments in Boston and its western suburbs. To be eligible, an individual needs to be unable to get to medical appointments independently, and able to get in and out of the car with minimal assistance. The individual is responsible for tolls and parking fees. The requested donation is $4.00 each way. Call Springwell at least two or more weeks before the appointment to make your request.

BeDriven® offers shuttle van and car service, by reservation, to and from Boston area health facilities, including hospitals, doctor’s offices, health clinics, rehabilitation facilities, etc. for non-emergency medical appointments.

If you require prescriptions to be filled or equipment picked-up, special arrangements can be made at the time of booking or by contacting a reservation agent prior to pick up.

This MBTA service is for persons with disabilities and seniors who are unable to independently use public transportation. The program requires a face-to-face interview which can be scheduled over the phone. Free transportation to the interview will be provided by The RIDE. Once approved, rides are scheduled by calling 1-844-427-7433.

GoGo Grandparent allows a person of any age to use Uber or Lyft without having a smartphone. They can provide transportation to any destination provided the individual can get in and out of the vehicle with minimal assistance. Call GoGo Grandparent and follow the prompts to arrange your ride.
