As we age, our circle of family and friends can start to shrink due to aging and loss, or because of growing limitations in our ability to get out and about.

OVERVIEW

Friendly Visitor volunteers are matched with a senior and visit on a regular basis, weekly or every other week for one to two hours. They can go for walks, fix a light snack, run brief errands, and read or help write letters. Because they are volunteers, Friendly Visitors do not help with bathing, managing money, or giving pills, but they will get emergency assistance if the need arises.

Springwell has more than 30 years of experience working with volunteers. Our Friendly Visitors are carefully screened, trained, and matched with a senior living in the community. They come from all walks of life and include professionals, retirees, students, and newcomers who want to make a deeper connection with their community.
