2022 is the 50th Anniversary of the Senior Nutrition Program in the US
- In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Senior Nutrition Program in the United States, Springwell & BayPath are teaming up to educate our communities about this program, answer any questions you might have about how it can help you and/or your family, and connect people who might want to enroll for a program assessment.
- Last year, Springwell(*) & BayPath(**) provided more than 500,000 meals through a combination of home-delivered meals, community dining sites, and grab and go meals to more than 3,350 older adults in the communities of Ashland**, Belmont*, Brookline*, Dover**, Framingham**, Holliston**, Hopkinton**, Hudson**, Marlborough**, Natick**, Needham*, Newton*, Northborough**, Sherborn**, Southborough**, Sudbury**, Waltham*, Watertown*, Wayland**, Wellesley*, Westborough**, and Weston**.
- During the pandemic, we’ve worked to keep the older adults in our programs safe by changing our delivery practices, adding grab & go meal options for community sites where community dining isn’t possible, & delivering multi-pack frozen & shelf-stable meals to those receiving home-delivered meals.
- The Nutrition Programs at both Springwell and BayPath are very similar, and are available to any adult aged 60+ living in the communities we serve. These programs can be an important part of maintaining health and social ties for individuals and families in a wide range of situations.
