One Year Later at Springwell
Springwell’s mission is to serve older adults. They are essential, vibrant members of our communities, and providing the additional services and supports that they need to maintain health and independence is our privilege and honor.
It’s been a long year for all of us, and while the gradual return to normalcy may be in sight, the need to support our senior neighbors continues. Springwell launched the Seniors Are Essential Emergency Fund last March to give us the flexibility to meet the needs of our shared senior neighbors during the pandemic. Since that time, we have provided more than a million hours of in-home services and supports to over 4,000 local older adults, and the Emergency Fund has provided direct support and assistance grants to more than 200 of them to help with uncovered emergency needs.
The type of assistance people need is changing, but it is not going away. Whether it is a microwave oven for the extra frozen meals we are delivering or transportation to a vaccine site, Springwell is juggling both budgeted and significant additional expenses. By making a gift to Springwell’s Seniors Are Essential Emergency Fund, you are investing in your local nonprofit’s expertise in getting help quickly to where it is needed.
