Share your voice to help create the Massachusetts State Plan on Aging
Every four years, the Massachusetts State Plan on Aging is revised based on the needs of older adults (age 60+) and their family caregivers. The Plan serves to shape the policy development and programs that the Executive Office of Elder Affairs will pursue to promote independence, empowerment, and well-being so those in need will have resources to thrive in every community.
The first step in creating the plan for Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2025 is to hear from older adults and their caregivers about their top needs. Typically, Springwell schedules multiple listening sessions for individuals in our service communities to discuss their needs. With social distancing and recommendations to stay at home as much as possible due to the pandemic, listening sessions are not the ideal way to have your voice heard this year. But, based on the hardships for many in recent months, it may be more important than ever to make sure the needs in our communities are addressed. The safest way to make your voice heard this year is to complete our anonymous, secure survey here.
Springwell is the Area Agency on Aging for Belmont, Brookline, Needham, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston so we are responsible for surveying older adults (age 60+) and caregivers in these communities. Your voice is a crucial part of developing the local Area Plan on Aging for Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2025. As an older adult, what do you think the needs are in your community? Is it technology, transportation, social isolation, or something else? To make your voice heard, please take a few minutes to complete the short survey, found here. Thank you for participating in the needs assessment process for your next Area Plan on Aging!
