Grateful for Springwell Volunteers During Volunteer Appreciation Month

“Embrace the good. That is what I have been thinking about lately. We all make choices about how we spend our time and our energy. Springwell volunteers choose to serve those that are the most vulnerable in our shared communities. They are out, connecting with the people we serve and actively showing how much they care. That matters. Over 300 volunteers participate annually caring about their neighbors, and we are so grateful for that,” shares Karen Chisholm, Volunteer Program Manager.

As we look around at all the good in our communities, we know that kindness matters. Whether it’s serving a hot meal, taking someone to the grocery store, spending time visiting an isolated older adult, providing behind the scenes administrative support, helping with budgeting and monthly bills, or listening to the concerns of residents in nursing homes and rest homes, volunteers are vital to Springwell’s mission of helping people remain living safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Springwell has a variety of volunteer opportunities to provide these caring services to your neighbors.
