Social Work Month
March is Social Work Month and here at Springwell we are pleased to recognize and thank all the social workers who support our community daily. Social Work Month each year honors the powerful, positive impact the social work profession has had on our society for generations and it also spotlights the great work that social workers are doing. Our experienced social workers and those newer to the field share ideas and collaborate to maximize the support Springwell coordinates for adults age 60 and older as well as those younger than 60 with disabilities.
When we took time to honor Springwell’s energetic social workers at a recent all staff meeting, they shared the importance of their work to them. Natasha noted, “Having worked with all age groups, I find my work is always fulfilling and always makes a difference.” Jen added, “I became a social worker because what makes me happiest in life is seeing people grow, change, and succeed in life. If I can help a person to make a positive change in their life, I am honored to be a part of their journey.”
Nationally, more than 700,000 social workers meet people where they are and help them to live to their fullest potential. Social work is one of the fastest growing professions in the United States with the number of people employed in social work expected to grow by 11% over the next decade.
