When I am facing a problem, I call Springwell
Martha, a resident of Watertown, doesn’t remember when or how she first heard about Springwell but says that when she is facing a problem, she calls her Springwell Care Advisor, Kayla, and together they figure out how to solve the problem. As older adults, Martha and her husband have faced the challenges that go along with aging. Martha has coped with hip replacement and back pain while her husband has had multiple health challenges. As her husband’s primary caregiver with no family nearby, Martha appreciates Springwell’s help.
Kayla has helped Martha apply for and receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. These benefits help her afford and cook the nutritious diet she is accustomed to that includes lots of legumes and vegetables such as kale. When Martha needs to get something taken care on online, Kayla helps her with using the internet. Kayla also helped arrange for someone to repair a bathroom sink in Martha’s home. Martha notes that some people might not be aware of all the ways Springwell can help beyond the commonly thought of in-home personal care services.
“Springwell is always very helpful. I appreciate the way Kayla talks through my problems with me and we figure out a solution together that works for me. I depend on her advice. My needs can change daily so I am grateful that Kayla always returns my phone call as soon as she can.”
Martha says she will soon reach out to Kayla for help arranging transportation for her husband’s upcoming eye surgery and she may also learn more about the Springwell Caregiver Support program. Facing a challenge related to aging? Contact Springwell at (617) 926-4100 to work together on a solution.
