Public Hearing Announced: 2022 – 2025 Area Plan on Aging

As a federally-designated Area Agency on Aging, Springwell is charged with creating an Area Plan every four years for the towns of Belmont, Brookline, Needham, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston. Springwell will be holding a public hearing about services for older adults and family caregivers.  The purpose of the hearing is to gather feedback from seniors and the public on the needs of, and services for, people aged 60 and older and those who care for them.  The mission of Springwell is to provide comprehensive services to older aduls, individuals with disabilities and those who provide care, guided by a commitment to the individual’s right to live independently in the community.

The hearing will be held on August 24, 2021 at 1:00pm via Zoom. A draft of Springwell’s Area Plan on Aging for 2022-2025 is available here, and will also be presented at the hearing and an open comment period will follow.  Comments from any interested party are welcome and can be made at the hearing and/or submitted in writing, attention to Donlyn Cannella at Springwell, 307 Waverley Oaks Rd, Suite 205, Waltham, MA 02452 or dcannella@springwell.com no later than September 7, 2021.
